LAMP

LAMP is Linux Apache MySQL PHP. This is the base core of 98% of the web servers operating. Senitrus OS? will be based on Linux, and at the core, a simplified kernel to assure that the server will operate efficiently. Apache is a web site server. It assigns websites to directories, and make sure every page gets to the right place. For example, pc.senitrus.com might go to /user/sites/pc.senitrus.com. When the visitor seeks to visit the particular site, the Apache server will direct the visitor to that folder. MySQL is a database software. In configuration with the Senitrus LAMP Server, all databases will be located at sql.domain.tld. PHP is the most common server side coding system out there. You are using PHP, and MySQL with reading this website, and while you can look at the source code, the server will just show you the results of what it was told to print out on the XHTML code.

Sentirus LAMP Server will go one step further, and provide for email? server capabilities. You would be able to host IMAP email accounts, auto-responders, catch-all accounts, and emails for subdomain?s. This will all be done in a completely graphical interface. If this is for a family, then each family member can have their own email address, and that email address will automatically connect with the correct person based on the Senitrus ID. This allows for long and complex passwords without having to remember anything. Small businesses will likely need something different.

Since the LAMP server is intended for SOHOs to medium businesses, there will be no need to have a 5U server unless you are actually a web hosting company. The largest capacity hard drive I found was 40TB, and that is more than enough for most needs.

LAMP Server

LAMP Server will operate in a completely graphical user interface. For the rational of the LAMP server, it will be seen as a city. There could be additional LAMP servers that would recognize each other. However, let’s just assume one LAMP server. Every UID for the server is a neighborhood. The neighborhood will have a post office for email management, and buildings. Each building is a domain name, and each subdomain is floor within that building. In example of this site, the neighborhood will be Senitrus. The buildings will be senitrus.com, and senitrus.net. One could also add senitrus-os.com. For senitrus.com, you would see a floor called pc which will be this website (obviously changed significantly). The LAMP server will do all of its Apache technomagic behind the scenes so you as the administrator don’t have to worry about that.

For email, there will be support for auto-responders, catch-all addresses, forwarders, IMAP accounts, and mailing lists to mention a few within the post office. Each user in the neighborhood will be given appropriate mailboxes where they can manage multiple accounts if necessary. The system is designed to make it as simple as possible.

For FTP?, the user will see folders with the subdomain as the folder name. This is not a completely graphical interface, but should be simple enough to add or take files out. When a floor is deleted, that particular folder is as well deleted to make space for new content.
